Mayor of Tamale, Hon. Sule Salifu on behalf of the Northern Regional Minister launches National Fitness Day in Tamale on Saturday, 10 September, 2022.

This is in line with the initiative by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which is set to be celebrated in every region on the second Saturday of every month and to be spearheaded by the National Sports for all Association Ghana (NASFAAG).

Hon. Sule Salifu who led the health walk through principal streets of Tamale, on behalf of the Northern Regional Minister thanked the people of Tamale especially the keep fit clubs for the enthusiasm in taking part in the activity.

He encouraged the people of the region to take this activity very serious as this will go a long way to enhance our health.

He called on all MMDAs in the region to celebrate the day as such.

The executive member of NASFAAG, Mr. Mohammed Nuru Zaman, has commended the Ministry of Youth and Spots for this loudable initiative.

He said that, the Fitness Day Activity involve physical exercise which promotes strong muscles and bones, and improves respiratory, maintain a healthy weight, reduce the risk of heart diseases, reduce risk for some cancers and improves overall health.

He on behalf of the keep Fit Clubs in the region assured the Northern Regional Coordinating Council and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of their commitment to ensuring that the success of this initiative is achieved.
