In a warm reception, Hon. Shani Alhassan Shaibu, the Northern Regional Minister, welcomed Chef Failatu Abdul Razak and her team to the Northern Regional Coordinating Council on Monday, 15 January 2024.
The meeting marked a significant part of Chef Failatu’s thank-you tour following her remarkable performance at the Guinness World Cook-A-Thon in Tamale.
Expressing her gratitude, Chef Failatu took the opportunity to thank the regional minister for his unwavering support before and during her attempt to break the Guinness World Record of 119 hours, 52 minutes, and 16 seconds, previously set by Alan Fisha in Japan.
Chef Failatu acknowledged the overwhelming support from the community, stating that it had been a driving force behind her endurance during the cooking marathon.
“My expectation is that the outcome will attract investors and bring developmental projects into the region,” she remarked.
In response, the Regional Minister commended Chef Failatu for her courageous and ambitious venture in cooking continuously for an impressive 227 hours, putting Tamale on the world map.
Encouraging her to seize further opportunities, he urged Chef Failatu not to let her achievements end there but to continue leveraging the available platforms for her culinary career.
Assuring ongoing support, the minister declared, “The doors of the Northern Regional Coordinating Council are opened for any assistance as Chef Failatu pursues her career.”
