President Mahama stated unequivocally that as long as he remains President, Dagbon will not be marginalized in the distribution of state resources and development interventions.
“As long as I remain President, Dagbon will receive its fair share of the development projects my government can undertake,” he assured.

According to the President, sustainable peace must translate into tangible improvements in the lives of the people.
“Above all, the people of Dagbon deserve to see the peace we enjoy reflected in better livelihoods, stronger public services and greater opportunities for their children,” President Mahama noted.
He further pledged to sustain open and respectful channels of engagement with the traditional leadership, indicating that concerns raised by the Palace would receive prompt and dignified attention.
“We will maintain open channels of communication with your palace and respond with respect and care to any matters you bring to our attention,” he said.

“Your father was a bridge-builder, and you have promised not only to maintain the bridges he built but also to build your own bridges during your reign,” he observed.
President Mahama commiserated with the Regent and the entire Dagbon Kingdom over the passing of the late Ya-Na and urged the Regent to build on his predecessor’s exemplary service to Dagbon and Ghana.
He reiterated government’s profound respect for the customs, traditions and institutions of Dagbon, assuring that his administration would continue to foster an enabling environment for traditional authorities to discharge their responsibilities with dignity and honour.
