The Ghana Developing Communities Association (GDCA) just celebrated its 40th anniversary and 2024 Denmark seminar, on Saturday, 2 November, 2024 at Dalun in Kumbungu District with the theme” Inclusive Education for Sustainable Development”
The Coordinating Director at the Northern Regional Coordinating Council, Mr. Damma Mumuni who delivered a speech on behalf of the Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Shani Alhassan Shaibu expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to GDCA’s incredible journey of empowerment and development. He emphasized the enduring partnership between Ghana and Denmark, particularly in uplifting Northern Ghana.

The theme resonated deeply with the Regional Minister, who acknowledged the late Yeni Gushie Naa Professor Abubakar Alhassan’s legacy in fostering growth through empowerment, education, and advocacy. He praised GDCA’s efforts in addressing disparities in access to education, ensuring every child has equal opportunities to learn and grow.
The Minister urged renewed commitment to promoting equitable access to education, supporting educators, and investing in schools to meet diverse student needs. He pledged continued government support to GDCA and like-minded organizations.
GDCA’s skills development programs, focusing on technical and vocational education, are vital for empowering youth to become opportunity creators and drivers of development. The Minister envisioned a future where partnerships flourish, and the private sector, government, and civil society work together to bring about positive change
He concluded by thanking everyone involved in GDCA’s journey and reaffirming the organization’s commitment to inclusivity and accessible education. He expressed hope for a brighter future, where GDCA continues to thrive and bring progress to Northern Ghana.
