The Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Ali Adolf John, on behalf of the Chiefs and people of the Northern Region, wishes to inform the general public that the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, will embark on a two-day working visit to the region from Saturday, April 18 to Sunday, April 19, 2026.
As part of the visit, the President will undertake key activities including sod-cutting ceremonies for 24-hour Economy Markets in Bimbila and Kukuo in Tamale, as well as inspect a 300-capacity girlsβ dormitory at Bimbila College of Education on Saturday. In addition, the President will tour and assess selected major roads being executed under the governmentβs βBig Pushβ infrastructure programme, aimed at accelerating road development and improving connectivity across the region.
On Sunday, April 19, the President will hold a grand durbar at UDS in Tamale under the theme βAccounting to the People.β
The public is kindly encouraged to come out in their numbers to give the President a warm welcome and participate in the scheduled activities, particularly the durbar. Residents are also advised to cooperate with security agencies and adhere to all arrangements to ensure a smooth and successful visit.
